What Comment-On is

Comment-On is a place to discuss content hosted elsewhere. You paste a link to something on another platform (a YouTube video, a TikTok, an Instagram post) and it takes you to a single shared discussion for that link. We don't host or control the linked content itself; we host the conversation about it.

Your account

You can start as a guest with one click and add a passkey later to keep your identity across devices. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your passkey device secure. You must be old enough to use online services where you live (at least 13, or the minimum age in your country if it's higher).

Community rules

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. When you post, you agree not to:

• post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening or defamatory;
• post sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualises minors;
• post spam, scams, malware or another person's private information;
• impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are;
• harass, bully, threaten or incite violence against anyone.

Content that breaks these rules will be removed, and accounts that break them may be suspended or deleted.

Content you post

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting, you grant Comment-On a non-exclusive licence to store and display it so the discussion works. You're responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to post it.

Reporting and blocking

Every comment has a Report action for flagging objectionable content, and you can block any user from your account settings so you no longer see their posts. We review reports and remove content that breaks these rules, and we aim to act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, including removing the content and, where warranted, ejecting the user who posted it.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from the account page. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

No warranty

Comment-On is a small independent project, provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind. It may change, break or go offline. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of the service or from content posted by others.
